I’m coming at you today with some more Get Messy Art Journal fun! I honestly haven’t participated in a season in a very long time, but Season of Fairytales just seems so wonderful and magical (plus when I return from my trip to Europe in September, I’m determined to go through all of the seasons I missed and more). So why not start with this season as it’s beginning?
For this season, I’m using a small A6 size journal I handmade out of fabric samples I had lying around. I basically made a quilted cover and stitched in three signatures of my favorite scrapbook papers. When I initially made this journal I had filled out the first few pages, but nothing was really finished. So when I decided to use this journal for this new Get Messy season, I altered the pages that already had some things on them and turned them into a few pages for week one! I actually really love how these pages turned out.

I honestly took inspiration from a Katy Rose song called Enchanted. So the first few pages I included some of the lyrics from the song. If you see the word “enchanted” repeated on two of the pages, you now know why. I also included a few ripped pages from an Alice in Wonderland book I recently ripped apart (for a different project I haven’t shared yet), which sort of reinforced the song and of course related to the season!
My very first page doesn’t really have anything to do with the season. It was one of the original pages I initially created and I just like it so much that I left it as is. I may go back and switch up the gold glitter alphas to a word that is more suited for the season, but for right now, I think I will leave it.
I’m really hoping I can keep up with the season and travel at the same time! Last time I attempted this was the Season of Introspection and I never really completed that season. Hopefully I can fill up this journal as well as my travel journal I’m hoping to keep while my family and I travel through Europe.
