What to say about May:
Lots of ups and downs, ruminating thoughts, tears, flights, great friends, home of country music, antique malls, Sid Gold’s piano bar karaoke, so many tears, sundresses, Opryland, driving a stick shift, little art notes…
May, you were something. And here are a few things I enjoyed this month:
Reading
The Attachment Effect by Peter Lovenheim and West Wind by Mary Oliver. I read the Mary Oliver one for fun one night. It was not on my TBR list. But the Peter Lovenheim book was an insightful read! I’ve always been curious about attachment and how that affects our lives and the relationships we have in our lifetimes. I’m sure there are other books on the subject, but this is one I picked up and it was a smooth, easy read. I really enjoyed it and I’m curious to take the online assessment to see what my attachment style is (though I have an inkling I already know).
Watching
Secrets of Dumbledore, finally! I liked it more than the previous Fantastic Beast film. And Matrix: Resurrection (so very weird), The Hating Game (super cute!), and a slew of old 2000s teen rom-coms like Winning London, The Lizzie McGuire Movie, Get a Clue, Just My Luck, and How To Deal simply for nostalgia purposes…plus they make me feel good.
Listening To
ED SHEERAN. Still.
Discovering
Nashville, Chattanooga, and Lebanon, Tennessee; Altar’d State, how to drive a stick shift, OPRYLAND, the reality that pieces of him are everywhere, and the mere fact that I have the most amazing friends in the entire world.
