May seemed like it went by in a blur. Honestly, so much has changed and is still changing. I’m just riding the wave of it and seeing where it takes me. I’m hoping for all good things, but you never know with life.
Anyway, I just wanted to share a few things I’m currently enjoying this month:
WATCHING
Raya and The Last Dragon on Disney+. OMG this was a great movie! I really enjoyed it more than I thought I would. I’ve been catching all the new Disney releases when they become free to watch on Disney+, so I didn’t watch this right when it came out. The film felt very Avatar: The Last Airbender to me, which I’m totally not mad about! I thought it was great.
LISTENING
to Aly & AJ’s new album, a touch of the beat gets you up on your feet gets you out and then into the sun. I almost forgot that they were releasing a new album this month! But this was seriously overdue. I’m loving Aly & AJ’s new sound. It’s very laidback and chill, with hints of 80s vibes. It’s definitely on brand for the type of music I listen and am drawn to. My favorite tracks are Pretty Places, Listen!!!, and Symptom of Your Touch.
WORKING
in my new Summer Stories journal. I made another A6 altered artist in bloom to act as my summer journal. This is basically going to be a place where I collect all of my summer memories, thoughts, polaroid photos, and maybe art journaling pages. Just everything about my summer will go in here. I’m trying a new thing and seeing if I can memory keep in a journal like this. I normally gravitate to scrapbooking, but I really want to try and merge my scrapbooking with my art/junk journaling.
COLLECTING
Essie nail polish. I have become obsessed with collecting these nail polishes in all sorts of pastel colors. Essie just has the best selection of fun polishes in my colors. It started out with two polishes and it’s now grown to about ten. I’ve also gotten back to changing out my nail color about once a week. It’s been fun! All of my friends are currently into painting their nails too, so we’re always sharing what colors we’re wearing.
